About Christine Collins MCGB.
There is only a relatively small sprinkling of
chefs deemed good enough to be elected to the ranks of the Master
Chefs of Great Britain. There are only a very select few who are
actually an outside caterer without a restaurant business.......
But then Christine Collins has proven the exception
rather than the rule. Looking for a new 'something to do' and as
she had previously attended the Westminster School of Catering,
Christine decided to start a Bed
& Breakfast business from her home in the heart of Thetford
Forest in Norfolk.
One thing lead to another when Trevor Hughes, Managing
Director of T & W Wines recognised
Christine's exceptional culinary skills. Whilst providing a dinner
party for Trevor, Christine was introduced to the chairman of the
Master Chefs, John McGeever, who described her canapés as exquisite,
with the highest compliments for the seared scallops on a puree
of fennel and saffron.
Christine was then invited to forward her C.V.
to be considered for nomination into the coveted Master Chefs of
Great Britain. She was the 120th member to be elected to this elite
association, which means she stands up there with famous chefs and
fellow members who work among establishments such as Gleneagles,
Claridges, Grosvenor House Hotel, Quaglino's and The Savoy.
Since that time Christine's own satisfied customers
read like a 'Who's Who'.
